ABOUT RDG
Roy started his career at Young & Rubicam Sydney, working with a formidable department of creatives who drove the agency to win Campaign Brief Agency of the Year two years running. Being fully immersed in this crazy circus truly ignited Roy’s passion for great work.
After spending a few years travelling the globe directing and producing for National Geographic Channel, Roy returned to Australia and ascended the production departments of multiple advertising agencies (notably Clemenger BBDO and Publicis Mojo) before crossing over and working in senior roles at award winning production companies like @radical.media and Finch. In this time, he developed in-house production/post facilities for multiple companies and his scope grew from broadcast to digital integration and finally innovation work.
In 2015 he co-founded 13CO, an Australasian production collective, with his partner Charity Downing. Changing the traditional production company model allowed his creatives to work across multiple disciplines, from commercials to long form, technology, experiential and digital. In 2022, he expanded his offering to FR13NDS, a new home for freelance photographers.
His ethos has always been to embrace great creative (the power of the idea) and protect it through execution.
Roy remains one of the most trusted and well-regarded producers in the country.
